What Happens After You've Reserved Your Puppy

Once you have reserved your puppy with Rosewood Kennel, we will be in contact with you and update you as things progress. We will let you know after the breeding has been done, how mom is doing and of course, we will let you know as soon as the puppies are born!

It will be time to find a vet, if you have not yet done so and unless you are going to do so yourself, find a good obedience trainer or line up some classes. Obedience training is the secret for making a good puppy into a great dog. We recommend puppy obedience training sessions, but only after the puppy has had all of its immunizations.

 What Happens After Your Puppy is Born

We will notify you once the puppies are born and are doing well, and we will let you know how many males and females there are in the litter, and if you will receive a puppy from this litter or the next. We go by dates of deposits and have to wait until the litter is born to see how many males and females there are. Sometimes it is necessary to have your reservation moved forward to the next litter, if the sex, or color, or hair type of the puppy you want is not available in the current litter.

We will send out photos every week, so that you can watch the puppies grow! We will try to get close-ups so you can see their personalities, and of course, we will let you know how they are progressing. All immunizations and wormings are done as per our vet's schedule. Socialization starts the day the puppies are born with a lot of human contact and handling.

The balance on your puppy is upon delivery of puppy, if driving. Final payment will be due in cash or cashier's check. We will, if at all possible, drive to meet you all or part way if you so wish to deliver your puppy. We feel that it is less stressful for the puppy. However, do to the rise in gas prices we will now have to charge a nominal fee for fuel. If we are bringing several puppies, we will charge accordingly.  If you are having your puppy shipped to you via the airlines, the puppy shipping fee of $300 is due ten days before the puppies go to their new homes.  We will make all reservations and will take care of everything. We'll let you know the flight number and arrival time. Final payment will also be due by this time. Payment should be sent to Jana Moeding, 2056 60th Ave NW, Montevideo, MN 56265.

Matching families with puppies is not done until they are about 6-7 weeks old. We wait as long as we can to let the puppies develop their personalities before matching them up with their families, and by using the preferences indicated on your Buyer's Agreement. Once puppies are 7 weeks old and the match-ups are done, we will send you a photo of your own puppy!

The selection of puppies are made after we spend days of observation of the puppies, making notes on puppy behavior and then matching those notes with the preferences you gave us on your Buyer's Agreement.  Included in what we are looking for is behavioral aspects as well as coat types (wavy/shaggy or softly curled), allergy concerns and coat colors you prefer. Goldendoodles are very sweet natured so finding one that suits you, is not difficult. All of our parents are selected for our breeding program based on their temperaments, gentleness and personalities.

Be sure to have a checkup appointment scheduled with your vet. Remember that puppies should not go out in public until they have had all of their immunizations. This is extremely important! No public parks, walks in the neighborhood or obedience training outside the home.
