"He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being; by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.) When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... whenever... wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I always have. He is just my dog."  - Gene Hill

At Rosewood Kennel we are devoted to raising beautiful, healthy, affectionate puppies and making them available to responsible dog lovers. The pups are raised in a loving family environment and are fully socialized. We provide plenty of room for our dogs and puppies to romp and interact with them on a daily basis.

We begin weaning our puppies from their mother at 6 to 7 weeks of age, the puppies are generally available for adoption about two to three weeks later. It is at this time we begin the task of matching the personality traits to those wanting a puppy. The temperament of the males and females is basically the same. Neither sex is harder to house train, and both are equally intelligent and affectionate. Having had females all my life I was reluctant to accept a male when we were looking for our goldendoodle. Fortunately, we decided to take the only available puppy in the litter, a male, and we fell instantly in love. Now I have 2 male goldendoodles of my own and adore them. They are affectionate and loyal.

Our adult dogs are genetically tested for all major defects. Hips, Hearts, and Eyes. Additionally, the Poodles have also been tested for Sebaceous Adenitis (a genetic skin disorder) and Von Willibrand (a genetic bleeding disorder) and have been cleared for these diseases as well. It is our hope that by our aggressive testing of our breeding dogs,
you will never have to know the pain of losing your puppy to one of these heartbreaking diseases.

The early "health" of our puppies is also a major concern to us. We follow a vigorous vaccination and de-worming program. By giving our puppies a good start we have every hope that they will continue to have excellent  health and vitality as they mature into adult dogs.

Adult  weights of our standards are typically in the range from 45 to 60 pounds, with a few being smaller and a few heavier. Obviously, many  factors including diet and exercise can influence growth and development and we cannot forecast, or guarantee adult sizes.

Adult weight of our miniatures typically range from 25-40 pounds, depending on what size poodle is used. Toys will produce slightly smaller puppies than miniature poodles.

We also produce medium minis that typically range from 35-45 pounds, depending on the female standard poodle we use.

New this spring we are breeding mini English teddy bears. While we are not certain of the adult weights our best guess will be that they will be in the 45-55 pound range.

Adult weight of our English teddy bears typically range from 55-75 pounds.

Our puppies come in a variety of colors including:
blond, black, cafe au lait, chocolate, cream and, on a rare occasion, silver or red. Grooming requirements are minimal on Doodles. Many owners trim their dogs themselves occasionally just to keep them looking neat and clean. Since they love water, bathing them is not a chore! The great thing about Doodles, whether low shed or non-shed, seem in most instances fully compatible with allergy sufferers.
